Unix Cockpit version 1.4, a nifty X11 filemanager with multiple browsers,
a directory tree, integrated shell, custom menus etc. was just released
as shareware on Linux. It's available from:
- ftp.uu.net, /vendor/UniX11/linux, file uc-linux-v1.4.gz.
- ftp.uni-wuppertal.de, /pub/unix/cockpit/linux
- unix.hensa.ac.uk, /mirrors/uunet/vendor/UniX11/linux
V1.4 adds substantial functionality to V1.2, including support for
multiple viewers, multiple configuration databases, information panels
and new directory tree operations. A lot of care was taken to clean up
remaining bugs and incompatibilities with Linux 1.2.x; people using the
old Cockpit versions on Linux should upgrade. Unix Cockpit is also
available for DEC, FreeBSD, HP, IBM, SGI, SunOS & Solaris.
