Description:
xamixer 1.00b is released, and is available by anonymous ftp from:
ftp.phys.ualberta.ca:
/pub/linux/1.00b-bin-linux.tgz
and /pub/linux/xamixer1.00b-src.tgz
Compiling from source requires XForms. The binary is linked statically
and should run on most machines with standard soundcard hardware.
Here is the README:
XAMixer 1.00 beta - An X11 Audio Mixer
--------------------------------------
* Built using the excellent XForms library and fdesign tool
as my first hack at an X11 app.
XAMixer provides X11 GUI control on audio channels on PC Soundcards
(at least it works for a SoundBlaster Pro in a COMPAQ 944 :-)
Individual channel controls include:
* separate L/R stereo volume sliders
* stereo lock/unlock (lock syncs L/R volume)
* solo (temporarily listen to only 1 selected channel)
* max (set vol to max on a channel)
* mute (mute out a channel)
* Norm (set volume to mid-point)
Channels:
* stereo MASTER VOLUME sliders
* stereo CD, DSP, FM, LINE, MIC ( RECORD is inoperative)
* main BALANCE slider with instant centering button
Not implemented yet are:
* setting up which channel to record from
(the buttons are there, but they don't run any code)
* RECORD channel is inoperative at this time
* a LED lighted sound display
(haven't thought out how to implement it yet)
