Hi folks,

I made new shared libjpeg with the new 5.0a JPEG sources from the
Independent JPEG Group. This is binary compatible with the old libjpeg I
uploaded a couple of weeks ago.

Then I compiled a new shared ImageMagick for Linux using the above libjpeg.
These binaries save you 3 Megs of disk space compared to the "standard"
ImageMagick, which is not shared.

The next step was to make a shared xv 3.10 using my libjpeg and libtiff
(there is no new shared libtiff, so you have to get the old one !) saving
300k or so in the xv binary.

The Linux console image viewer "zgv" is there, too, using the shared
libjpeg, too.

The files are called libjpeg-5.0a-l1.tar.gz, ImageMagick-3.5-l1.tar.gz,
xv-3.10-l1.tar.gz and zgv-2.4-l1.tar.gz.

I uploaded them to sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/Incoming, but I think they
will be put in the appropriate subdirectories soon.

Please direct your mails to leitner@cs.tu-berlin.de if you have questions or
suggestions.

These programs are ONLY FOR X11R6 (XFree86-3.1) !

All the programs are compiled with full optimizations on (which is not true
for many other binary uploads, that's why I state that here). I take no
responsibility for anything. If they break, tough luck. Write me a mail,
though, if I forgot something vital.

Felix
