                             ANNOUNCING COOLMAIL
                                     V1.2
                                (New Version)

Version 1.2 of coolmail is now available on sunsite. (Actually, I
uploaded it about four weeks ago, it just took this long to get moved to a
distribution directory).

     New features include:

     - (most importantly) more intelligent checking of the
inbox for mail readers that don't empty out the inbox file when you
       read your mail,

     - An -update option that's a synonym for -int (for xbiff fans),

     - A -once command flag that reduces how often coolmail rings the bell.

Coolmail is a mail notification utility for Unix/X with an animated 3D
mailbox. It checks for new mail at regular intervals, and lets you know when
it finds some. When you click on it, it can launch your mail reading/writing
application. Try it as a cool alternative to xbiff or xmailbox++. One nice
advantage it has is that it scales its graphics to any window size.

The graphics are still pretty simple, for now, but it's still a lot
cooler looking than the other freely available mail notification programs I've
seen.

                      FTP Site: sunsite.unc.edu
                      directory: /pub/packages/mail/

Let me know if you like it. Note: There still is no support for
monochrome (1 bitplane) X servers/monitors.

Share and enjoy,
