Those of you who were around Linux a few years ago might remember the
Linux Device List maintained by David Miller. Unfortunately,
Mr. Miller disappeared out of the Linux world, and it has now been two
years since his list was last updated.
After querying on comp.os.linux.development.system and the
linux-kernel list I have decided to pick up the ball. I will take and
register requests for device numbers, and maintain a list of
allocations.
This list is available for FTP from ftp.yggdrasil.com in the directory
/pub/device-list in several formats. The archived version of the list
will be updated continuously. To request a device assignment, or
provide additional information for the list, please e-mail me at
<Peter.Anvin@linux.org>.
Sincerely,
H. Peter Anvin
