Subject: (c)fdisk patches for big SCSI disks
Summary: patches for big SCSI drive partitioning
Keywords: SCSI partition fdisk cfdisk
Newsgroups: comp.os.linux.announce

Followup-to: comp.os.linux.development.system
I have made available patched versions of both fdisk-1.5 and cfdisk-0.8
that have support for SCSI drives larger than 2 Gigs. These can
be found on amelia.db.erau.edu in /pub/linux.
I ran into a need for these patches whil trying to create both
primary and extended partitions on a 9 gig SCSI drive. The original
versions would give lseek() errors and corrupt the partition table.
These patches were made by Hubert Shaw (hshaw@cougar.mcom.com) for
use on his ST15150N, and I have used them on my ST410800W. They
have worked for us, but we cannot guarantee that they will work for you.
Please exercise caution when using them (make backups, etc).
The 'CHANGES' file has information on what was added and why. The original
programs, patches, and patched originals are included, along with the
man pages and makefiles.
