DMSDOS is a filesystem extension to the msdos filesystem for Linux.
Mount Msdos 6.0, Msdos 6.2 doublespace, Msdos 6.22 drivespace and Win95
doublespace compressed partitions under Linux with the dmsdos filesystem.
Dmsdos features:
* all compressed volume files are converted to subdirectories where you
can find the complete compressed filesystem
* full read access, restricted write access to compressed partitions
* supports compressed floppies
* can coexist with umsdos in the same partition
* can use umsdos extensions in compressed partitions
* when writing, a compression level may be selected by the user
* supports standard (like msdos driver) and extended (cp 437) text conversion
* supports old Win95 doublespace
Currently unsupported, but under construction:
- Win95 drivespace 3 support
- *very* new Linux kernels > 1.3.38 (?)
Recommended Linux kernel to use with dmsdos: 1.2.13 or 1.3.24
Note: This is not the software you want if you want to compress Linux data
(it works in an umsdos partition, but it's too slow).
