           A N N O U N C E M E N T
           OFRONT EVALUATION SHOP

I am pleased to announce the availability of the
Ofront Evaluation Shop (OES). The OES is available
via anonymous Internet file transfer from URL
ftp://ftp.inf.ethz.ch/pub/software/Oberon/Ofront

Ofront is a professional Oberon-2 to C translator
featuring full language support including garbage
collection, dynamic loading (if supported on the target
platform), commands, extensible module interfaces,
a very efficient and compact runtime system and a
continuously growing set of libraries. On Unix platforms
Ofront can be used as as a command-line program or integrated
in the ETH Oberon V4 system. Under Windows, an integrated
development system based on Oberon/F is provided.

The Ofront Evaluation Shop contains demonstrational
versions of Ofront that allow to create fully functional
demo programs, i.e. programs that identify themselves as
demo programs but otherwise have no artificial limitation.

Ofront is currently available for
- ------------------------------------
SPARC (SUN Solaris1, Solaris2)
MIPS (SGI IRIX 5, DEC ULTRIX)
RS/6000 (IBM AIX)
PA-RISC (HP-UX)
i386 (Linux, Windows 3.1, 'NT, '95)

Online documentation is provided as ready-to-print
Postscript files in both A4 and US letter format.
