Hello,
An update from 1.00b, 1.00c fixes a mixup in the controls for fm/dsp
channels in the previous beta. Program is still beta, but it is ready
enough for general release.
Eventual location will (hopefully) be:
sunsite.unc.edu /pub/Linux/apps/sound/mixers/
74K xamixer1.00c-bin-linux.tgz (binary only)
16K xamixer1.00c-src.tgz (source only)
Here is the LSM:
Title: xamixer
Version: 1.00c
Entered-date: 05OCT95
Description: Update on previous version (1.00b) - small change to fix
dsp/fm internal channel button controls. Still beta...
Built using the excellent XForms library and fdesign tool.
(took about an hour to create the GUI with fdesign).
libforms.a and forms.h required to build from source.
The entire XForms distribution is accessible via
http://bragg.phys.uwm.edu/xforms
OR http://bloch.phys.uwm.edu/xforms
XAMixer provides X11 GUI control on audio channels on PC
Soundcards with mixers (i.e. SoundBlaster Pro, SoundBlaster
AWE32). Bass/Treble work on cards that support these channels.
[may work with other soundcards which have mixers on board.
your mileage may vary... all depends on defs in soundcard.h
in the linux kernel].
Individual channel controls include:
* separate L/R stereo volume sliders.
* stereo lock/unlock (lock syncs L/R volume).
* solo (temporarily listen to only 1 selected channel).
* max (set vol to max on a channel).
* mute (mute out a channel).
* Norm (set volume to mid-point).
Channels:
* stereo MASTER VOLUME sliders (BASS,TREBLE support).
* stereo CD, DSP, FM, LINE, MIC ( RECORD is inoperative).
* main BALANCE slider with averaging center button.
Not implemented yet are:
* setting up which channel to record from (the buttons are
there, but they don't run any code).
* RECORD channel is inoperative at this time.
* a LED lighted sound display (haven't thought out how to
implement it yet).
