There is a new port of the BSD time daemon to Linux.
It is based on the 4.4BSD/NetBSD sources as of early September, 1995. The
sources to the timed package included with most Linux distributions was
not referenced while making this port.
This time daemon appears to work considerably better then the version
supplied with more Linux distributions, and is based on newer code.
A kernel patch is required, since Linux's method of handling ICMP timestamps
is less then desireable; the patch should work with any 1.2.x kernel.
(Whomever wrote the code made some bad assumptions about packet sizes.)
A top level Makefile and man pages are included.
