CALDERA LICENSES GLOBETROTTER'S FLEXlm FOR LINUX
            'NETWORK DESKTOP BUNDLE'

FLEXlm provided with WordPerfect, Z-Mail and NExS Spreadsheet

NEW YORK, N.Y.(Jacob Javits Center), September 19,1995-GLOBEtrotter
Software, Inc., of Campbell, Calif., today announced that Caldera, Inc.,
Orem, Utah, has licensed GLOBEtrotter's FLEXlm license manager for use in
Caldera's Network Desktop Bundle, which allows users to author, publish and
communicate information in a workgroup or on the Internet through familiar
interfaces.

Caldera and GLOBEtrotter have also formed a strategic alliance to
promote FLEXlm as the standard for software licensing in the Linux marketplace.
Linux, a free "UNIX-like" operating system for PCs, was developed by many
private individuals collaborating over the Internet.

The companies are in attendance here at UNIX Expo '95.

The Network Desktop Bundle is comprised of Novell=92s WordPerfect
for Linux, NCD Software's Z-Mail, XESS Corp.'s NExS Spreadsheet, Metro Link's
Motif Executive Libraries, and Caldera's Network Desktop. The Network
Desktop is based upon the Linux operating system.

This strategic relationship between the companies is intended to:

o provide an infrastructure of well defined, successfully implemented and
widely accepted technology for electronic commerce in the sale of
     software licenses.

o provide software customers with licensing terms that best reflect the
value they receive from software products.

o make system administration easier through a common means of managing
     software.

o reinforce FLEXlm's status as the de facto standard license manager to
make Linux a better marketplace for software developers and software
     customers.

"We chose FLEXlm for our license manager because it is the de facto standard
license manager," said Ransom Love, Caldera Inc. vice president of marketing
and sales. "It helps us distribute software more efficiently and at lower
cost, enabling us to offer this extraordinary value in desktop applications."

"License management is a critical technology for the electronic commerce of
software," said Richard Mirabella, GLOBEtrotter Software's vice president of
marketing and sales. "FLEXlm allows vendors to distribute software binaries
while controlling or monitoring the actual use of software to keep usage
within the license terms."

Added Mirabella-"With FLEXlm, the Linux marketplace gets a robust, Internet-
ready license manager with a large following of software vendors using FLEXlm
in their products. The wide adoption of FLEXlm in the Linux marketplace will
be a major benefit to both users and vendors."

FLEXlm, by far the most widely used network license manager in the Open Systems
marketplace, is part of GLOBEtrotter's software licensing solutions for software
developers. These licensing tools enable developers to effectively price and
control the distribution of software.

Caldera, Inc., Orem, Utah, is a privately held company established in 1994.
Caldera empowers the Internet community, developers, OEMs, ISVs, industry
partners and end-users to collaborate, innovate, build and deliver meaningful
computing alternatives to the business community.

GLOBEtrotter Software, Inc., of Campbell, Calif., is the market and
technology leader in license management solutions. More than 600 leading
computer manufacturers and software vendors use GLOBEtrotter's FLEXlm in
more than 10,000 products.
