* Next meeting will be September 21 at 7:00pm at Open Computing
Institute, Inc (See below for directions).
* The lecture will cover TeX & LaTeX by Dr. Kevin Ruland.
* We will have the August release of Infomagic's Linux Developer's
Resource (4-CD set) available for $25.00 a copy. Also available
for $15.00 will be `Linux - Guerrilla UNIX development' t-shirts.
* The slides Matt Welsh used for his lecture have been converted
to HTML and are on our web page (http://dark.wustl.edu/sluugls).
PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION
========================
LaTeX is a high-quality typesetting system, with features designed
for the production of technical and scientific documentation. LaTeX
is the de facto standard for the communication and publication of
scientific documents (WWW home page for LaTeX). Dr. Kevin Ruland
will discuss the administration of the various facets of the
TeX and LaTeX systems, including compiling and installing TeX,
setting up the lib hierarchy, and generating fonts on demand. Most
of the discussion will be suitable for general UNIX affecionados,
with part of the discussion focusing on NTeX, a TeX distribution for
Linux.
