Subject: fdisk-3.01, a command line oriented fdisk
Organization: CWI, Amsterdam
This is to announce a new fdisk for Linux, a rewrite from scratch.
The old fdisk was rather buggy, especially on large disks,
and rather confusing, with lots of meaningless error messages.
I hope this one will be better, but of course, since only
very few people have used it, there might be silly bugs somewhere.
It has (too) many options, many of which have never been tested.
I started a version numbering at 3.0 - for the time being, this
does not supersede fdisk 2.0e. (Especially for people who like
menu walking, the latter may be preferable.)
So far I have been unable to obtain detailed information
about the various Disk Managers, so this fdisk does not
yet adapt itself to their presence.
Comments are welcome.

Title: fdisk
Version: 3.01
Entered-date: 950910
Description: A rewrite from scratch of an fdisk program for Linux.
It is much more powerful than the old one, and hopefully
much more correct. It can be used in shell scripts.
Since it is brandnew, it is virtually untested. Beware!
