NEWTL! Newton/Linux Communication System
Newtl transfers NewtonScript source code (for Steve Weyer's
Newt "compiler") from your Linux machine to your Newton
using the Slurpee Newton communications package (also from
Steve Weyer).
Although Newtl was developed for Newton development, it can,
in fact, transfer any Slurpee-compatible text to/from your
Newton soups! In fact, Newtl can send email from your
Newton's Outbox to anyone on your network using Slurpee!
I'll, hopefully, be adding printing to Newtl as well! If
anyone can figure out the protocol that "Mail" and "Print"
use over the serial line, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
I'd like to get away from relying on Slurpee so Newtl can
use the native Newton programs.
