I am confused. (and not surprised that I am confused, I come
that way)

Let's see if I can come up with a grid:

Building against motif lib 1.1 allows xmosaic with our mods to work with
DEC and IBM r6000 but not Sun.

Building against motif lib 1.2 allows xmosaic with our mods to work
with Suns, but crashes the Decs...

Would it be appropriate to build against working motif libs for the
right architectures and install that way?

I assume that for now there is no binaries of xmosaic with our mods
that are operational.
