Chad wasn't kidding about sources. We can crash mountd reliably;
disassembly of one of the svc_* routines indicates that it appears to
lack a test for a null pointer that is in the sunrpc3.9 public
distribution. Fixing the problem requires (1) replacing mountd
wholesale (which I might try) or (2) building the Athena mountd from
sources, all the way down to librpc and libc, so we can debug the
conditions as well as the proximate cause.
So, do you have the bits and the interest to do the latter?
