I'm just forwarding you some comments from user Lazaros Polymenakos, who
was trying to use TeX with the pictex macros. I told the user how to do
this with LaTeX, and here is his reply:
I got your answer about including the pictex file in a latex document.
I knew how to do that. You see latex has its own pic environment. The
problem is including a pictex document in TeX - plain TeX document. Thus
my question is not really answered! Furthermore, the program fig2dev is
supposed to do the conversion from a fig file to pictex or ps file. If
that is not the case, then fig2dev may need to be removed from the
system; it is not functioning properly.
Finally, it seems to me that fig2dev does not implement all conversions
that exist for a pictex or even piclatex file (for example it does not
have splines implemented for piclatex and shades for pictex.) Anyway,
we will port this file on a pc and work there. You see, somebody in my
lab claims that he had similar problmes at athena, but it worked fine on
the PC. However, if you resolve this problem please let me know.
Thank you for taking time to help me, and if you can pomote these
comments to the proper channels so that bugs and problems can be fixed I
would appreciate it.
