The Outland locker is almost ready to start being promoted... Towards
this end, I'd like to start filling it. The first things I'd like to
see in it are:

  o xgopher 1.2 - I'll deal with this. :-)

o /afs/sipb/project/gnu - all of it that we (Calvin) thinks is a
    good idea.

o xznol - call it xznol-beta or whatever, I'd like to see it in
    here.

o pgp - Derek, can you take care of this? (2.2, I assume - this
    *IS* a test locker. :-)

o layers - (the unix side of maclayers) I've had a number of
requests for this beforehand, and basically lamed out until Matt
decided he want to show it to me. :-) It's on Banana in the
Telecom folder if you'd like to try it out... I've mostly talked
Shabby into working on a windows/OS2 version of this. What I
didn't tell him is that I want it to use the same unix side. Have
    fun, Chris. :-)

o sipb locker cruft - as we discussed before. We can start moving
things out as soon as we decide on a format.

As for the format of the locker, I've this in mind:

o .{bin,lib,etc,build}.@sys dirs for each platform, with top-level
pointers from {bin, lib, etc, build} and machtype{bin, lib, etc} (but not
  machtype{build}.

o doc, and src dirs, with subdirectories for anything not very small
(I tend towards subdirectories for everything, for consistency, but
I could be talked out of it)

o man with `normal' setup. I'd personally prefer to keep real
manpages here rather than symlinks, so that there'll always be
something here if other things go down, but this prefence can be
curbed by lack of disk space. (same for doc, but less so).

o project with a subdir for each `item' in the locker, either a link
or a pointer of some kind (README file?) to the `real' home of the
  `item'.

I'd like to see comments on the overall layout on sipb, as well as
possible suggestions for other entries, but keep the discussion to
relevant quarters - start by removing the CC line from this message
and add things in as they're relevant. Other things that could go in
here, perhaps: new discuss clients, testing versions of sipb locker
programs (betaxrn?), the new (La)TeX stuff, the XeT stuff, and
getdate.pl (JUST KIDDING!!!)
