X VERSION, RELEASE, and PATCH LEVEL MACHINE:
How the hell should I know? It's just your standard Vax station, Athena
Workstation Version 7.3P.
CLIENT MACHINE and OPERATING SYSTEM:
Again, how should I know? Your standard un-modified Athena user account.
SYNOPSIS:
That I can tell you...it takes about five or ten times longer to read a news-
group.
DESCRIPTION:
Right after I get into my news file, I choose the {Read} option to read a
group, i.e....alt.fan.rush-limbaugh. It is either reading what's in it, or just
idling. Either way it takes about five to ten minutes to read a group wiht about
150 entries. Whatever is causing it is beginning to piss me off. It never used
to take that long. Even a group with only ten entries or so takes at least one
minute.
REPEAT BY:
Basically, if you do anything on the xrn thing, it takes a heck of a lot
longer than it did about a half a year ago!!
