please change xwebster instructions.
"clicking any button causes ...to disappear.": clicking the right button
does make the window disappear but also EXITS xwebster. this is annoying.
directions should say DONT ever CLICK RIGHT BUTTON unless you want to quit.
"clicking any button in help window...": clicking left button causes it to
disappear for 2 SECONDS and then another one just like it appears. clicking
the right button causes xweb to exit. ONLY the middle button gets it away.
likewise, clicking the left button in a definition window ALSO makes it dis
appear BUT calls up a help window which can only be gotten rid of etc etc.
It so happens that the only button to make anything go away forever is the
middle button, unless you want to quit, in which case the right button
makes everything go away, too.
I don't know which xwebster you're using, or what type of machine
you're using it on, but this is not the behavior I observe from
running /mit/sipb/rtbin/xwebster on an IBM RT.
On that platform, clicking any button in the help window causes it,
and only it, to go away. Clicking any button in the word window again
causes it, and only it, to go away. Clicking any button in the
definition window again causes it, and only it, to go away. Clicking
the left button in the webster window causes help to pop up, clicking
the middle button causes a word window to pop up, and clicking the
right button causes everything to go away. All this is exactly what
the help window documents.
If this is not the behavior you are observing, then you are going to
have to be more specific if we're going to be able to help you track
down the problem. What kind of machine are you using? What window
manager? Does this happen every time you use xwebster? What do you
get when you type "ls -ld /mit/sipb"?
