Ok, well, cpp was a bad idea, but was an idea I had before telling
you about m4 with layered Athena.
By the way, make sure the back-out also includes "check_public" which
I was starting to write; it is more thorough and is already in use on
the rios. It clobbers ALL configuration files even more thoroughly
than the normal reboot procedure, and I was hoping to integrate this
as a common script used by the update and boot procedures. Mark V. and
Ezra noticed this start, but that the script hadn't been completed for
the other platforms yet (which is why it was limited to a cpp processing
in do_update). At one point, I had tested the configuration on a
DS5000 to ensure I generated working config files, but I wonder
which version made it in if it was broken.
