This list is meant to give a flavor of the changes in 7.6. The list
will be updated periodically. Release notes should be appearing in
/mit/builder/doc/7.6 sometime in the near future, and updated as
everything is integrated. Feel free to redistribute this list, with the
understanding that this is not the final, comprehensive list.
The major changes since release 7.4 are:
- Integrate ATK 5.2.1 (AIX 3.2 and Solaris 2.1 supported)
*** This is the most user-visible *** (trb[0173])
- AIX 3.2 support
7.6: Patches to better support 220's (AIX patches)
- Solaris 2.1 support
- Operational requirements
Fixes to dsmail (chaining), and disserv
TEX fonts to support 600dpi
Other HP printer support MAY be added.
Fix several mkserv scripts
Dialup bugs: ntalkd, ftpd, termcap, quota, /bin/login (environ)
Time synchronization: should use AFS as a fallback
- Put scribe and saber license files in AFS
- Change the scribe wrapper
- Build/install gdss for the release (rel-eng[3017])
- Moira (rel-eng[3018])
- AFS update
Improved cache manager performance
Fixes several known bugs, inc. "unknown error 109" (over quota)
Fixes RISC/6000 "mv: Not owner" bug.
- Ultrix 4.3 support (?) - probably not.

These two lists are the complete set of changed files that were not
associated with a port. 1200 files were changed, overall, primarily to
support the AIX 3.2 and Solaris 2.1. Additional files are being
modified currently to support the integration work.
