It is not yet clear if we will be enabling BSD compatibility during the
build; an attempt will be made to avoid such compatibility, but if more
than a couple of things break, it will be enabled for this round. I
will add a paragraph about BSD compatibility into the document - ie. try
not to rely on it, with the exception of a couple things like sockets,
which almost every SYSV implementation has now incorporated or provides
some sort of package to accomodate.
