The Imakefile I submitted with attach last summer used gcc on the VAX.
Release engineering changed this to use cc, because the copy of gcc on ajax
did not compile attach properly. This was caused by a missing link from
machineio to vaxuba. This link has been added to the gnu locker. The
Imakefile should be changed back to use gcc, and gcc on ajax should be
updated from the version in the gnu locker (talk to me or Ken Raeburn before
doing this).
