whoops... I guess I sent off my original message too quickly...
According to the TechInfo server protocol document, 9000 is the port
number and it's tcp.
This is needed for the server. If anyone tries to run the server on
another machine, it'll fail. Also, the techinfo code does not qualify
as "reasonable code" :-)
