Use the template for the packs, this time. We are short on time, and
from the template, we can probably hit most of the Makefiles and their
inter-dependencies.
I'd rather invest the time in a test stage than trying this experiment
for this release. After all, we are using a new compiler again.
At the moment, I am taking several short-cuts on the RT side, while
waiting for the X build.
