cutter-john hardware problem

cutter-john, the IBM PS/2 Model 70 in the SIPB office, appears to have
a hardware problem.  The operating system (OS/2) crashes during boot.
Of course, that could be a software problem; however, running the
"Test the system" option from the reference disk also crashes the
system.  It runs through many tests (system unit, memory, keyboard,
floppy drive) successfully; then, it flashes up "about to test XXX" (I
couldn't read it fast enough) and immediately dies.  I suspect the
hard disk is at fault, but that's just a guess.

Do we have any kind of service contract on this machine?  It
originally came from Athena, running AIX 1.2.
