What you're seeing are particular PDF files, which are tickling a
firmware bug.  Ops gave firmware updates to the cluster printers, but
dorm printers are a low priority for us, and since several printers
needed on-site intervention after receiving the firmware update, we
decided not to risk breaking any printer we couldn't physically access.

At some point, we'll get around to doing another batch of updates, at
which point, we'll try to hit any dorm printers that need it, but probably
not immediately, so for now, I don't have any solution to offer you.
