Hi,
I would like to request fresh installs of the latest Athena software on 2 Sparcstation 5's in the MIT Libraries:
bloom.mit.edu (athena 8.3.13), Rm. number 14-010
libsys-2.mit.edu (athena 8.3.23) Rm. number 14-0645
Both workstations seem to show signs of a recent panics:
Dec 22 14:51:41 bloom.mit.edu unix: panic: recursive mutex_enter, lp=f5937a6c ow
ner=f5d6b880 thread=f5d6b880 type=0 tsid=0
presumably from portscan(?) attacks which, while doing no substantial damage has left the machines in a semi-crippled state. Both systems complain of of attachtab errors when I try to do an update to the latest version of Athena and it appears as if the "easiest" thing to do is to re-install with the latest athena version.
Both rooms in which the workstations reside are alarmed.
Thanks.
Carl
