7.3E is ready for testing. Update is per usual as sent in past messages.
Changes in this release:
ALL:
Lucy and Xdsc app-defaults files fixed to use bitmap file path.
edsc caching fixed (patch from tytso)
new shell variable "athena_manpath" in global cshrc (contains
athena-default man directories; currently /usr/athena/man:usr/man)
gdb library rebuilt with hesiod defined
printer accounting fixed.
dash changes: (for more info, see release notes)
- warning box if falling back to menu file on RVD
- default geom. for clock (only affects gwm & no windowmanager)
- fonts adjusted to work better on screens with diff. dpi's (like rios)
console: new "timestamp" resource
default location of zephyrgrams moved back to +0+0
/usr/athena/lib/elisp symlink forced (to prevent warnings starting emacs)
/usr/athena/bin/olh: extraneous lines at end of script removed.
7.2 xlogin support added (old scripts put on srvd's).
mrtest and update_server moved to /usr/athena/etc; prev. misplaced in
/usr/athena/bin
BSD:
postit/cal rebuilt with fixed gdb library.
Missing xps fonts installed; symlinks in font directories fixed.
symlinks /usr/etc/{mrtest,update_server} now point to /usr/athena/etc.
path to update_server changed in /etc/rc; now in /usr/athena/etc.
/usr/athena/bin/tmail.sh fixed to be /usr/athena/bin/tmail
symlink created from /usr/new/tmail to /usr/athena/bin/tmail
rlogin,rsh,rcp fixed to fall back to BSD programs correctly
compat. links created in /usr/ucb/{rsh,rlogin}
compat. links for /bin/fs and /bin/unlog
compat. links for programs prev. in /etc now in /etc/athena
compat. link for /etc/athena/messaged; moved to /usr/athena/etc
compat. link for /usr/athena/lib/ispell/icombine; moved to /usr/athena/bin
compat. link for /usr/athena/lib/update/synctree; moved to /usr/athena/etc
compat. link for bulkpost in /usr/athena
compat. link for /site/usr/lib/crontab
RS/6000:
Run sysck to fix up various protection problems (sendmail, perm. on /tmp)
rc.athena fixed to create motd from version file correctly
dash fonts adjusted.
DEC:
path to update_server changed in /etc/rc; now in /usr/athena/etc.
symlink from usr/doc to AFS location of usrdoc
Accounting subset loaded
compatability symlink for /bin/fs and /bin/unlog
VAX:
redundant discuss header files in /usr/include/discuss removed and
replaced with symlinks to /usr/athena/include/discuss
