We did that a number of years ago on the list.  It was called
"Magic Money." Pr0duct Cypher adapted the insides of PGP into a
library named PGPTools, and wrote the code to implement Chaumian
Ecash with blind signatures.  I ran a little bank on Netcom,
which we kept up until interest waned.  Problem was, there wasn't
really anything tremendously useful that could be purchased with
"Tacky Tokens," but it at least let people play with the basic
concepts involved.
 
BTW, I've parked on Grex until I get my Eskimo problems sorted
out and find another ISP with a local presence.  The email
address in the .sig should now work.  r00t@eskimo.com is toast.
