Well, the real problem here is that until we get a version of http that
truly supports persistent connections, *and* handles them properly, there
are major issues with getting the cgi scripts (all the same program, I
would suspect) to properly recognize if they were at the final URL, or
another one, and to know where to get the IMG files from.  

I'm sure this is possible, but I suspect there's going to need to be a
fairly robust application on the client end, probably taking each webpage,
and modifying all the IMG links to be local, and writing the images to
that.  It'll be kludgy given the current state of http technologies.
