There are many other fora which discuss these issues exhaustively. I do
most of my writing these days in comp.software.year-2000 and
misc.survivalism.
Water storage is often discussed. I have a well, but also I have 2
200-gallon water bags (from www.watertanks.com) and 6 55-gallon barrels.
What apartment dwellers should have is a matter for careful thought. If one
has warning of an outage (e.g, in the days before December 31st), one can
fill bags and barrels.
Energy and heat are, like water, topics which require a lot more discussion.
I don't think Cypherpunks is a good place to recap these discussions, so I
won't. Use Dejanews to find thousands of articles.
