As far as I know, we’re on track for Monday Aug 11 for release. I’m going to flip the “early” bits today, which will mean another 10 machines or so (list sent to acis-team last week) will auto-upgrade over the weekend. (I will be around and checking on things, but the impact is low.

Remaining timeline:

- Today at 5pm: Freeze. Nothing goes to production, except for bug fixes actively impacting usability, between now and Aug 18.
- By Tuesday at 10am: Mail to release-announce with final details, and an estimated date for the dialups (jweiss?)
- Monday, Aug 11: Flip the switch, and let machines upgrade overnight.

Let’s do e-mail check-in this week, and meet on 8/8 at 2pm (I will send an invite in Exchange). (2pm works around achernya’s availability; let me know if anyone else has conflicts). I think in general, going forward, I’d prefer to move our standing meeting time to 2pm.

Outstanding issues:
- Force logout/unlock screen is klunky:
— LightDM may be able to give us a knob to disable switch-user functionality at the display manager level, so that would be a win, but we’d also loose the only hook we have to force-logout a user.
— An upcoming rewrite of the greeter should also fix some of the UI pains

Anything else I’m missing?

-Jon
