(I got explicit approval from the release team this morning.)
It's not clear how user-visible it is:
* Old /etc/passwd entries can be taken care of by an update
script.
* tcsh has very few scripting features not present in csh, so
it seems unlikely that scripts would be unwittingly relying
on tcsh features. Also, those same scripts are failing on
SGIs now.
However, Carla thought we should be notifying people in case they want
to check their scripts. I meant to ask her what lists she thought it
would be appropriate to send mail to, but I didn't manage to.
