Howdy,
1. I just wanted to let everyone know that (after the olh locker
release tonight), the URL for the Release Notes will be:
http://web.mit.edu/olh/Release/8.0/
(It used to be ".../R8.0/" to follow the conventions in the "release"
locker, but I decided to go for brevity and dropped the "R").
2. I don't know who cares about this, but I am planning to issue only
ONE set of Release Notes, including both the Sun and SGI changes
and noting upfront the effective date of the changes for each
platform.
This document will be issued to coincide with the Sun release, then
possibly a refresher set will be issued when the SGI version goes to
the field. This was much less problematic than trying to issue two
separate documents staggered by a week and including similar but
slightly different information.
3. In the MIME section of the release notes, I pointed people to the
O'Reilley book "MH & xmh: E-mail for Users & Programmers" and even
included a link to the relevant O'Reilley page. I just checked that
link and the page now says: "This product has been discontinued."
Does anyone know of a suitable replacement for that reference. I
would like to be able to point users to SOME resource (it does not
even have to have a Web link associated with it). Any ideas?
