Making an mit-scheme package that works for current Ubuntu was
non-trivial, but easier than I expected. The hardest part was waiting 25
minutes for each failed build attempt.

I've filed LP #339449 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/339449). This is
based on the latest version of mit-scheme in Debian, but with Ubuntu's
patches still applied.

One of the MOTU Release Team members said on IRC that he didn't expect
it would be too hard to get a feature freeze exception, given that this
is not technically a new release of mit-scheme, and you there's no
chance of regressions, since the package doesn't work to begin with.

I suspect that, if we're lucky, this could hit intrepid-backports some
time before the end of April, but we'll have to see how the process moves.
