Yes, it's true.

It takes longer that it usually might because it includes an update of
the operating system. If I recall correctly, the Solaris 8.0 update
(going from 2.3 to 2.4) took around 40 minutes. The SGI also takes
longer because we put a lot more of the operating system on local disk
than we ever have on other platforms.
