I've been pointed to:

This Kiosk Mode extension alleges to work for FF2 and FF3, and to
turn off all web browsing outside of
"take me home". This implementation of Kiosk mode could offer just
"Register". Another session could offer "Xcluster". Or perhaps an
"Athena Kiosk" page offering Register, XCluster, System Status, and
Libraries access could be done.
rbasch: I'll be asking you how this add-on relates to the
investigation of kiosk mode you've already done.
all: Let's see if this narrow-function kiosk mode works, and enables
us to offer "Register" without getting into the business of giving
the world anonymous web access from an Athena 10 prelogin screen.
