Hi again,

I've tested a couple of additional libGL.fgl.so.1.2 libraries that are
newer than the one in the current release (thanks to Andrew who
pointed me to the rpms). The bad news is that none of them make
Mathematica 3d graphics, my "Cone" code example and glxgears work at
the same time. The only thing I've found that does is the old
libGL.so.1.4.501 library I built years ago:
libGL.so | math | Cone | glxgears
----------------------------------------+------+------+-------------------
fglrx_6_8_0-8.39.4-1 | OK | segf | segf
fglrx_6_8_0-8.433-1 (in release) | segf | segf | OK about 4800 FPS
fglrx_6_8_0-8.443.1-1 | segf | OK | OK about 4900 FPS
fglrx_6_8_0-8.471-1 | OK | segf | segf
/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2 (in release)| OK | segf | segf
/mit/mesa_v501/lib/libGL.so.1.4.501 | OK | OK | OK about 800 FPS
