The Athena 9.4.30 patch release is now scheduled for the evening of
Tuesday August 29 (one day late). Changes include:
On both platforms:
* The "listeners" athinfo query will display IPv6 listeners.
* The gaim-encryption plugin is now available.
* Attachandrun scripts are added for realplay, ivview, and freewrl.
* GNOME MIME type handlers are added for the above programs.
* Quota warning dialogs have been added to the default X login.
* clean_tmp_areas won't remove files owned by logged-in users.
* Firefox is upgraded to 1.5.0.5.
* The Firefox wrapper script handles more locked-profile cases.
* Firefox will make it harder to lose files in /tmp.
* sendmail will deliver mit.edu mail through outgoing by default.
On Linux:
* Public workstation verification won't reinstall Firefox.
* Many native RPMs are updated for RHEL 4 update 4.
If you have a machine set AUTOUPDATE=false, you can update it manually
after the release goes out by doing a console login as root and
running "update_ws".
