Given the quantity of the changes involved, I'd be tempted to newfs
your srvd partition and re-tar things. Once you've done that I'd
either split the partition in two (os and srvd) so that it's easy to
update them seperately. Failing that I'd put them each one level down
in the partition, rather than putting one inside the other. note that
the second option has the problem that if you have RVDCLIENT true your
symlinks may get nuked.
