1. We agreed to making recommended root changes. These include
taking dot (current directory) out of the root path and making the
path the same in csh and sh. We did NOT agree to add toor.
2. To avoid future problems with "attach athena", we agreed to fix
attach.conf to block mounting on /usr/athena
3. Key points of Athena 8.0 (the summer release) include:
- sol24 with AFS 3.4a
- irix5.3 with AFS 3.4a
- emacs19 as default editor
emacs will point to emacs19
emacs18 will be available as a short term transition
- sun cc will point to suncc
- mh mime support will be built in but disabled in the environment
- RS6000 and DEC will be deprecated
- transcript 4.1 will be in place
4. Solaris scheduled to go to beta on May 1
