This is a reminder that the Athena 9.3.16 patch release is currently
scheduled for the evening of Monday November 8. Changes include:

On both platforms:
  * Mozilla is updated to version 1.7.3.
  * Mozilla is fixed not to crash when printing certain pages.
  * sawfish will not reload fonts unnecessarily.
  * sshd will not destroy krb5 creds when krb524 conversion fails.
  * tcsh users who run bash won't get environment intialization.
  * xscreensaver will run unlock commands correctly.

On Solaris:
  * /usr/sfw/bin is now in the default path.
  * emacs should no longer crash loading tiffs.
  * file-roller should work on lha, rar, tar, and zip files.

On Linux:
  * A full Java SDK is now provided, making "java" and "javac" work.
  * The font for console logins should no longer be screwy.
  * There is a security fix to the Cyrus SASL code.
  * "df /afs" should show predictable values for available space.
  * pax is added to the release.
  * Many native RHEL-3 RPMs are updated to the latest from Red Hat.

If you have a machine set AUTOUPDATE=false, you can update it manually
after the release goes out by doing a console login as root and
running "update_ws".

Please send any questions or comments to release-team@mit.edu. Please
report any bugs you find with the "sendbug" command.
