ONGOING: Testing and bug fixing of Athena 9.3.
Last Month's goals:
PROGRESS: Review, revise and publish document, "Differences between
Athena
Linux and stock Red Hat Linux".
DELAYED: Develop Disconnected Athena documentation.
DELAYED: For Athena disconnected operation, craft fixes for issues
raised in testing and retest.
PROGRESS: Produce new Athena installer with better SCSI support.
DELAYED: Produce mkserv SAMBA so that Athena systems can be SAMBA
servers.
DELAYED: Improve Linux Athena installer documentation.
PROGRESS: Finish integration of GNOME 2.8 into upcoming major release.
DELAYED: Publish revised email documentation containing pine tutorial
from old Athena minicourse.

Other Accomplishments:
* Wrote document comparing RHN and Athena update. TODO: Find the best
place to publish it.
* Did all the work to produce the patch release, deployed it to the dev
cell for testing. Target general deploy for 8 November.
* Created GForge project for Athena release
(http://gforge.mit.edu/projects/athena/). Began populating it with
work items.
* Worked with ACIS team on getting Athena happy on non-standard
configurations in classrooms.
* Experimented with converting Athena CVS source repository to
subversion, with an eye to possible future migration.
Next month's goals:

Athena Monthly machine counts:
Method: On install, machines get a unique ID. Each day every system
reports its existence to a central syslog. This method over-counts
systems installed multiple times. Systems running Athena than 9.0 or
earlier are not counted.
