I just built emacs 18 for Solaris 2.4 and it appears to run fine. I
had to make a few changes (strings.h, properly detecting Solaris in
files that can't rely on the SOLARIS define, etc.), but it was only
about twenty minutes of work.
Oh, well, at least we won't have any trouble providing "emacs18"
binaries on the Suns and Decs after this summer's upgrade.
