This is a reminder that the Athena 9.2.15 patch release is currently
schedule for the evening of Monday August 4. Changes include:
On both platforms:
* Evolution is upgraded to 1.4.
* Mozilla is upgraded to 1.4.
* The error output of "from" with expired tickets is cleaned up.
* sawfish will match zwgc/console/maple windows more carefully.
* GNOME 2 printing will default to US Letter paper, not A4.
* zwgc will ignore the scrollwheel unless scrollDelete is set.
* The mozilla history byte-order bug should be fixed.
* A new athinfo query "install.log" retrieves the install logfile.
* athena_path and athena_manpath are visible in all shells.
* sawfish workspace grid movement is fixed.
* sawfish will remember the number of workspaces across sessions.
* /var/athena/infoagents will be removed, freeing up disk space
On Linux:
* nfs-utils is upgraded to prevent a denial of service attack.
* hosttype and HOSTTYPE will be set correctly in all shells.
* xsession won't fail gratuitously if /usr/bin is first in path.
* Invalid LD_LIBRARY_PATH values will result in a warning dialog.
* A startup race between named and syslogd should be less likely.
* The wl and kernel RPMs have updates from Red Hat.
* RPM will be updated to hopefully fix a hang bug.
* machtype -d will produce better output
On Solaris:
* update_ws will no longer kill sshd.
* CD drives should work again.
* The mozilla lock file option dialog should work a little better.
* gnome-terminal won't spew to the console on window title change.
* Evolution should be able to compose HTML mail again.
* Solstice Disk Suite should be properly installed.
* /usr/dt/bin will be in the default user path
* Patches 113096-03 and 112785-17 are added to fix an X server crash.
* Patch 112963-09 is added to close a local root exploit.
If you have a machine set AUTOUPDATE=false, you can update it manually
after the release goes out by doing a console login as root and
running "update_ws".
