 Accomplishments past period:

From goals:
     * Integrate Linux ext3 filesystem code to remedy problems with
systems being un-gracefully rebooted, as preparation for long testing
period of this code. Target public deployment for early January. (DONE)
     * Order more Test Cluster furniture, and a different KVM to test
with. (DONE). If the new KVM comes in, test it out. (It did. Testing
complete. Going to convert from Belkin to Rose Electronics, and add in
support for Pismere systems.) If the new furniture comes in,build it,
and do further cleanup of the test cluster. (It did. Built it, and
cleanup is in progress.)
     * Submit budget proposal. (DONE)
     * Complete the second EC3 module. (DONE)
     * Work on test integration of Evolution for Email client testing.
(PROGRESS: Specifically Hesiod support and MH compatability done, and
preconfiguration for MIT first time users.)
     * Refine dual-boot Athena Linux custom install into production quality.
Target deployment for early January patch release. (PROGRESS)

Other Accomplishments:

    * Infoagents locker modified to more reliably support java by
testing several combinations of versions and locking in the combination
that worked best.
    * Coded and tested a fix for the last significant AUI bug: The task
bar no longer randomly disappears.
    * Open SSH is in final testing. This will have value for the secure
FTP project since, heretofore the Athena supported SSH was SSH1, but the
non-UNIX world was SSH2. Open SSH supports SSH2.
    * Made contact with an important Sun customer who has interest in CNBoot.

 Goals for the coming period:

    * Roll out AUI GNOME tasklist bugfix to the field.
    * Prepare for ITAG presentation on Email client project.
    * Present Athena to interested Sun higher-education executives.

Carry overs from last month:

    * Finish test integration of Evolution for Email client testing.
(Support for "treat a remote inbox as primary inbox" functionality, is
expected to come soon from third party.)
    * Complete refinement of dual-boot Athena Linux custom install into
production quality. Target deployment for early January patch release.
    * Complete installation of new KVM equipment and do UNIX team's
tasks for cleanup of the Test Cluster. Assist other teams with
completing the cleanup work.
    * Hold a meeting to discuss possible workplan responses to Zephyr
usability report (and other Zephyr issues, perhaps.)
    * Get a Mozilla locker created and populated with current binaries
for people to play with.
    * Ongoing look at Nautilus as a canidate for 9.1
