1. lpr -p

We've been asked to disable the lpr -p option. The team seemed to
think it wasn't really useful. Garry will write the patch.

2. xlogin option to set screen resolution

We confirmed Oliver's theory that this is currently too icky. (X
makes it irritating, and so does the current dm architecture.)

3. Exception list for xss

We decided it was okay to just grep for the hostname in a file before
running xss in the dotfiles. Greg will write the patch. While we're
there, we might allow for a flag file in /etc/athena to turn off the
xss startup.

4. Solaris 9

The final release of Solaris 9 is currently scheduled for the end of
January, which is too late for us. But there is a free download of
the "early access" version available on the Sun web site. miki wants
CD images in addition to packages (the extra materials instrumental in
building the install and update miniroots); Garry will check.

OpenAFS is already ported to Solaris 9. Yay not depending on
Transarc.

5. Red Hat 7.2

The GX240 won't work with Red Hat 7.1 with its stock video card. The
GX150 should be available until next May-June, probably. We decided
not to do Red Hat 7.2 for IAP since there are hardware options which
seem better (stocking up on some GX150s before they go unavailable to
tide us through until August, or buying GX240s with a custom video
card).

We still do plan to enable ext3fs support in Red Hat 7.1 during the
9.0 release cycle, though.

6. 9.1 project status

We did a a status review of the projects currently in progress:

GUI mail client (ghudson) - Stalled in layer 9, but can probably
    begin work in spare cycles
BIND 9 upgrade (ghudson) - Mostly done; needs testing
OpenAFS (zacheiss) - Waiting until ~December when server OpenAFS
    work is also planned
Nautilus (amb) - Stalled, amb is working on Linux installer
Linux installer (amb) - Some improvements in progress for more
flexibility about disk layout; considering design options for
being more flexible about network cards
krb5 upgrade (rbasch) - Waiting for latest release from krb5 team
    due out soon
