Hi all,
It appears within the last few days, I have encountered a very large
number of sun workstations (all platforms), & Dells (all platforms) that were
in need of FSCK. I have been working approx 13 hr days (for the past 3 days),
and have responded to more complaints about this issue, then I have in a months
time. I would have to approximate 30-50 systems, Suns & Dells mostly in need
of FSCK, and more then the usual software re-installs on both the Sun & Dell
systems. Some clients are getting really upset, and I believe that some of the
complaints have been escalated to higher levels. It makes us (on the service
end) look like we are not responding to these failures. Do not know if its a
combination of the network problems that we have been encountering, or that
something is badly broken in the software. Prof's & T.A.'s have very large
classes at some of these electronic classrooms, and are not happy when all the
systems are now up.
I believe that this issue needs IMMEDIATE ATTENTION, and a quick
resolution. Please address this issue as soon as possible.
                                  Thanks Much,
                                             --Lou
